What is NLIS Express?
NLIS Express is a free software program from MLA that lets you transfer livestock and run simple queries using a compatible mobile phone to interact with the database, instead of a computer. You still need a computer and Internet access to perform other database functions.
If you have a Bluetooth reader that communicates with your mobile phone, you may use the reader to scan tags and then store the tag numbers on your mobile. If you don’t have a reader, with the My Herd option in NLIS Express, you can download the NLIS ID numbers from the database for your PIC (or a PIC linked to your database account), view the numbers on the phone and choose the ones you want.
Why use NLIS Express?
- If you do not have a computer or Internet access.
